250 grams chickpeas (soaked in cold water overnight)
1 medium sized onion (roughly chopped)
1 tea spoon Fresh parsley (chopped)
1 table spoon fresh cilantro (roughly chopped)
Salt and pepper
3 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons flour
Cooking oil (for frying)
1.Put all the ingredients with the soaked chickpeas in a food processor and blend all the ingredients to attain a course texture.
2.Mold the mixture in circular flat shaped of 30 to 60 grams depending on your preference.Afterwards store well in a fridge.
3.Heat the cooking oil on medium heat then deep fry the falafel to attain a nice golden brown color.Serve with a simple tomato salsa.
Originally,falafel is served in pita bread with humus(ground chickpeas)/tahini(ground sesame seeds) or yoghurt sauce(lemon/dill) and the salsa stucked in between the pita bread as well.
